From Guitar Hero to a Live Aerosmith Concert
Do you remember all your favorite bands from the 70’s and 80’s? Wouldn’t it be great to time travel and hit up another concert back in a time when music seriously rocked? As luck would have it, there is no time machine needed to hear one of the biggest and best bands from that era. We are of course talking about Aerosmith. Aerosmith, those bad boys of rock and roll, are currently doing a US tour, so don’t miss seeing them live!
The band was first formed in Boston in 1970. It didn’t take long for them to sign a record deal and quickly find their place in the spotlight. Multi-platinum albums quickly followed, with records like “Eponymous”, “Get Your Wings”, and “Toys in the Attic”. Conflicts and drug use eventually entered the scene and it seemed like the band might burn out. Luckily for us, they pulled themselves together, and continued on releasing hit after hit throughout the next two decades. Albums like Permanent Vacation, Pump, Get a Grip, and Nine Lives helped returned Aerosmith to the top. Their fame continued to grow as they started doing television and film appearances.
Then, of course, there’s mainstream success in the form of American Idol (Steven Tyler is still playing judge) and Guitar Hero for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Thanks to video games like Guitar Hero, a whole new generation has learned to love the band’s music. Aerosmith is the highest-selling American rock band of all time, has four Grammys to their name, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and even have their own ride at Walt Disney World known as the “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster”. That is an impressive run!
If you can believe it, the band has been performing for 42 years with no signs of stopping. In spring 2012, the newest Aerosmith album is expected to be released. Aerosmith is currently on the “Global Warming Tour” with Cheap Trick, and has announced that they will be playing songs from the new album.
This summer tour is sure to be hot, so check out when the band will be in your neck of the woods. No matter if you are an old fan who was there for some of their first gigs, or a brand new fan that has rocked to all of their Guitar Hero classics, you won’t want to miss seeing them live and in person!
