Country Music Awards Announces Line-Up and Nominations

The Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, will take place in Las Vegas on April 7th.  This year’s nominations have also been made.

The biggest event in country music has Eric Church in the lead with seven nominations including Male Vocalist of the Year as well as Album of the Year for the second year in a row. He has also been nominated for Single Record and Song of the Year for “Springsteen.”

Other top nominations include Hunter Hayes with six nominations including New Male Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year. Hunter Hayes is new to the country scene with a self-titled debut album that was released just last year.

Taylor Swift is making headlines again as well. She received her fourth consecutive nomination for Entertainer of the Year. Country fans vote on this award and if she wins, it will be her third consecutive award. She has also been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for the sixth time and Video of the Year for the fourth time.

Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran are currently touring together on Swift’s “Red” tour. Ed Sheeran is a British Singer/Songwriter that Swift recruited for tour via text message and after hearing his performance while touring in Australia.  The pair later co-wrote the song “Everything Has Change” which was featured on Swift’s Red album.
