All Eyes on the Nets as NBA Trade Deadline Approaches

You can usually count on at least one good storyline around NBA trade deadline time, and this year there are two coming out of New Jersey. Right now, the Nets have a frustrated Deron Williams and a potential in Orlanda Magic’s center Dwight Howard. But will a move be made? And if so, will it see players going to New Jersey, or leaving the Nets behind?

Right now the Nets have point guard Deron Williams, but it’s been said that he’s not likely to stay with New Jersey unless they can give him some good players to work with. And Williams leaving the team isn’t an impossibility, given that his contract is up at the end of the year. While Williams most likely won’t be moved at the trade deadline, what happens with his team could make a big impact on what jersey he’s wearing next season.

One of the support players that’s most likely to come in and give Williams the help he’s looking for is Dwight Howard – one of the names that’s been thrown around most this trade deadline, and since the start of the season. Howard will most likely leave the Orlando Magic to go somewhere, but the Nets shouldn’t start counting their points just yet. They don’t have anyone that the Magic wants, and so other teams would need to come into play. The Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers are a few possibilities, but multiple teams makes a deal more complicated, and less attractive.
