The next period of dominance came in the mid to late 2000's when the Magic lineup included Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. These players are two of the best at their positions in the NBA and led their team back to the NBA finals in 2009. Once again, they were beat in the Finals. This time around, they fell to the Lakers. Magic fans have a lot to be proud about as this team was not dismantled like the earlier Magic club. The team rebounded well in the following season.

Other than the Magic, the only other pro basketball team to call this city home is the Miracle - this team plays in the WNBA. There is also an Arena League team called the Predators who call this town home. All three teams share the Amway Arena.
