Atlanta Hawks VS. Miami Heat

Recap: Atlanta vs. Miami

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Paul Millsap scored 19 points with nine rebounds to lead eight Atlanta players in double figures, and the Hawks defeated the Miami Heat, 114-103, on Friday.

Al Horford also tallied 19 with six rebounds and four assists and Jeff Teague supplied 16 points with nine assists for Atlanta, which has won four straight.

Thabo Sefolosha, Shelvin Mack and Kyle Korver each deposited 12 points, while Mike Scott and Dennis Schroder added 11 and 10, respectively, as the Hawks shot 42-of-75 as a team.

Mario Chalmers led the Heat with 23 points to go along with 11 assists, Shawne Williams had 21 points and Chris Bosh finished with 20 points with eight rebounds. Chalmers played a bigger role for Miami because Dwyane Wade rested his sore right knee.

"We scored enough to give ourselves the chance to win," Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Horford scored the first seven points of the game that were part of a 15-3 run for the Hawks. Eight players scored for the Hawks in the first quarter as they built a 35-23 lead.

"It was good, but I think we left some points on the table," Korver said of the start. "I thought we could have made that hole a little bit deeper for them."

The Hawks led by as many as 16 early in the second quarter, but Williams hit a jumper that capped a 14-4 run later in the frame and trimmed the Heat deficit to 50-46 at 2:43.

Although Miami shot over 50 percent in the second quarter, it still allowed Atlanta to make 10-of-17 shots. Korver and Millsap each hit a 3-pointer in the final 1:07 to help the hosts to a 62-52 lead at the break.

The Heat cut the deficit to four a few times in the third, but the Hawks had an answer each time. Horford's layup with 30.7 seconds left made it an 86-79 game.

Scott scored seven points as part of a 9-2 run to open the fourth, and Atlanta rebuilt its double-digit cushion. The Hawks put up seven straight points later in the quarter, with Teague's dunk giving them a 104-85 lead just past the midway point.
