Atlanta Hawks VS. Miami Heat

Miami Heat (5-3) at Atlanta Hawks (4-3), 7:30 p.m. (ET)

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Heat tumbled the last time they were on the floor and will try to adjust on the road Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Heat had won two in a row and were 5-2 on the season until the ravaged Indiana Pacers came to South Beach and escaped with an 81-75 victory Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Chris Copeland deposited a late runner and the Pacers sealed the game from the foul line. The Pacers limited the Heat to 17 points in the fourth quarter and had a 53-28 advantage in rebounds.

Miami was led by Dwayne Wade's 20 points and Shawne Williams scored 15. Chris Bosh was held to nine points and two rebounds for the Heat. Bosh had scored 20 or more points in his previous seven games.

"We're going to learn from our mistakes. This was a bad one," Bosh said.

One game after scoring a season-high 30 points, Heat forward Luol Deng posted only five on 2-of-10 shooting versus the Pacers. Deng enters Friday's game 27 points shy of 11,000 in his career.

The Heat were held to under 100 points for the third time this season and are 5-0 in 2014-15 when reaching the century mark in scoring.

Wade is shooting rather well in his last five games, making 56.7 percent from the floor. Due to a sore right knee, Wade will miss the game.

Atlanta has won three in a row since starting the season 1-3 and is in the midst of playing eight of 10 games at Philips Arena.

In a 100-97 victory at home Wednesday versus the Utah Jazz, Paul Millsap poured in 30 points on 13-of-23 shooting and grabbed 17 rebounds. Jeff Teague (20), Kyle Korver (17) and Thabo Sefolosha (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers for Atlanta. Korver had 10 boards in the win.

The Hawks managed to hang on despite committing 22 turnovers for 28 Utah points. They shot 51.3 percent from the field, had a 46-30 rebounding advantage and limited the Jazz to nine points in the fourth quarter (18-9).

"Looking at our defense in the fourth quarter, holding them to nine points gave us a chance to win a heck of a game," said Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer. "Very pleased with that effort in the fourth quarter."

The Hawks previously won four straight during a five-game run last March 10-18.

Atlanta is 3-0 at home and hasn't won its first four home games since 2009-10, when it began the home schedule with a 7-0 mark.

The Hawks lead the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage at 40.8 and have made 10 or more three times this season. They are third in the NBA with 23.9 assists per game.

Miami and Atlanta split four games last season with each team holding ground on the home floor. The Heat have dominated the Southeast-rival Hawks lately to the tune of a 15-4 mark in the past 19 encounters. But now LeBron James is in Cleveland, so the momentum could shift.

These two division foes have split the past 14 meetings at Philips Arena.
