Xavier Musketeers VS. DePaul Blue Demons

Recap: Xavier vs. DePaul

Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Myles Davis led all scorers with 25 points and Trevon Bluiett added 21 off the bench, as Xavier rallied for an 89-76 win over the DePaul Blue Demons in Big East Conference play at the Cintas Center

Davis and Bluiett both set career-highs in the victory. Matt Stainbrook chipped in with 17 points and seven rebounds, and J.P. Macura had 10 points in 16 minutes off the bench to help the Musketeers (13-7, 4-4 Big East) exact revenge from a three-point road loss to DePaul earlier this month.

Reserve Tommy Hamilton led the way with 15 points for the Blue Demons (11-10, 5-3), who were coming off a win over nationally-ranked Seton Hall on Thursday. Aaron Simpson was next in line with 14 points, followed by Myke Henry with 13 and Darrick Wood with 11.

The Blue Demons came out of the gate red-hot, as they shot 63.3 percent from the floor and 11-of-19 from beyond the arc (.579) in the opening frame to take a 50-42 halftime lead into the break.

However, Xavier weathered the storm and put together a 24-7 run early in the second half to take a 66-59 lead on a jumper by Jalen Reynolds with 12:40 to play in regulation. The Musketeers eventually pushed that lead to double digits in the final minutes, thanks largely to a 30-14 scoring advantage inside the paint over the course of the second half.

Xavier improved to 11-0 at home.
