Tulane Green Wave

Tulane Green Wave VS. South Florida Bulls

South Florida (7-9) at Tulane (11-4)

GAME NOTES: With each team looking to bounce back from a loss, the South Florida Bulls and Tulane Green Wave will clash head-to-head in an American Athletic Conference bout at Devlin Fieldhouse Sunday.

South Florida has dropped three of its last four outings, including a recent 58-44 decision to defending national champion Connecticut on Tuesday. The Bulls are 7-9 this season, but own just a 1-4 record away from home.

Tulane ended a two-game win streak with a 64-56 defeat at the hands of Temple on Wednesday night. It was the first loss for the Green Wave in three conference matches, and just the second at Devlin Fieldhouse.

The Green Wave lead the all-time series with USF, 15-12. The last time these teams clashed on the court, the Bulls came away with a commanding 86-66 victory back in the 2005 campaign.

It was a pretty quiet day offensively for Tulane against UConn, as the Green Wave netted just 38.3 percent of their shots from the floor, including just 2- of-9 from 3-point range, in the 14-point loss. Only Corey Allen Jr. notched a scoring total in the double figures for USF, scoring 12 points with six rebounds. Anthony Collins dished out a team-best five assists, and Chris Perry pulled down eight rebounds to lead the squad. The Bulls let the Huskies open things up in the second half, as UConn shot 57.1 percent from the field to pile 10 additional points onto its lead.

Only UCF has allowed more points per outing to opposing teams this season than South Florida in the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls enter Sunday giving up 69.6 ppg, as opponents are hitting 37.3 percent from 3-point distance - last in the AAC. The Bulls are near the bottom of the conference standings in terms of scoring offense as well, as they bring in a 66.1 ppg mark to Sunday's clash. Allen leads the team at 15.7 ppg, and Perry chips in 12.1 ppg on 51 percent shooting from the floor. Perry's 7.5 rpg is the highest total for USF, and Collins chips in 95 assists to lead the team through 16 contests.

Temple didn't exactly shoot the ball all too well against Tulane on Wednesday night, as the Owls finished the contest at 34.4 percent from the field. But it was enough to get the job done, as the Green Wave could only make 37.3 percent of their shots in the loss, and went just 6-of-10 from the free-throw line. Jay Hook tallied 14 points to lead Tulane offensively, while Dylan Osetkowski chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds. Louis Dabney finished with 12 points, and Jonathan Stark dished out a team-best 12 assists in the eight- point loss.

Stark only contributed two points in the team's loss to Temple, but the guard still leads the Green Wave in scoring average headed into the team's next clash at 12.5 ppg, adding in a team-best 62 assists and 23 steals to his resume. Dabney comes in not too far off the scoring pace, averaging 12.2 ppg this season, while Hook checks in at 11.3 ppg to round out the trio of double- digit scorers for the Wave. Tulane is netting a respectable 69.3 ppg this season (third in the conference) on 45.6 percent shooting, and is giving up only 62.8 ppg to opponents.

In USF's last 10 games, the Bulls have only been victorious in two of them. Offense is a key issue for South Florida, which hasn't put up more than 58 points in any of the team's last three outings. Tulane at home should be able to easily outscore the Bulls and get back in the win column.

Predicted Outcome

Tulane 69, South Florida 57
