Texas Tech Red Raiders VS. North Texas Mean Green

Recap: Texas Tech vs. North Texas

Lubbock, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Devaugntah Williams scored 14 points and pulled down five rebounds as he helped guide the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 60-45 win over the North Texas Mean Green in non-conference play at United Supermarkets Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Red Raiders (10-3), as they snapped a brief two-game slide, was Isaiah Manderson with 10 points as he too cleared five boards in the triumph.

The Mean Green (6-6) were paced by Jordan Williams who delivered a game-high 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field, but just 1-of-7 behind the 3- point line for a team that has now lost two straight.

Both teams had trouble finding the basket in the first half as UNT knocked down only nine field goals and came up empty on all four chances on the perimeter, while Texas Tech also failed to convert beyond the arc (0-of-6) and was just 11-of-24 from the floor. Each side made good on four free throws, which meant the hosts went into the break with the four-point edge at 26-22.

The second half again saw both sides have issues generating significant offense from the field, with the big difference taking place at the charity stripe where Tech outscored the Mean Green, 16-3, en route to the 15-point triumph.

The Red Raiders survived despite turning the ball over 19 times and shooting just 2-of-15 beyond the arc.
