Richmond, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kendall Anthony finished with 18 points as the Richmond Spiders fended off the William & Mary Tribe, 68-67, in a non- conference affair at the Robins Center.

Terry Allen also had 18 points for Richmond (3-3), while TJ Cline chipped in 10 off the bench.

Marcus Thornton poured in 37 points for William & Mary (5-2). Daniel Dixon added 12 points.

Richmond entered halftime with a 38-33 lead. The Spiders shot an impressive 56 percent from the floor and sank 5-of-5 shots at the foul line to push ahead of the Tribe, who shot at a 59.1 percent clip in the opening period, but only managed a single successful free throw.

The Tribe kept shooting well in the second half, making 57.1 percent from the floor. However, the Spiders were able to hang on by netting 15-of-22 attempts at the charity stripe, making up for a 31.8 percent effort from the floor.

Richmond outscored William & Mary, 27-12, off of turnovers.
