Richmond, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Codi Miller-McIntyre netted 17 points and dished out six assists as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons held on to defeat the Richmond Spiders, 65-63, in non-conference action at the Robins Center.

Dinos Mitoglou chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds for Wake Forest (7-6), while Greg McClinton added 10 points and six more rebounds. Devin Thomas grabbed a team-best 13 boards in the win, which was the second in a row for the Deacons.

TJ Cline scored 22 points to lead all scorers for Richmond (7-5). Kendall Anthony contributed 21 points, and Deion Taylor pulled down 10 rebounds in the loss. The Spiders ended a four-game win streak with the defeat.

Wake Forest connected on 43.8 percent of its shots in the first half to take a 33-25 lead into the intermission. Richmond shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the period, but made just 1-of-9 from 3-point range and went 0-of-6 from the free-throw line.

The Spiders battled back in the second half behind 50 percent shooting from the field, although they made just 1-of-10 from distance. The Demon Deacons hit on 42.3 percent of their tries from the floor, and managed to hang on to a two-point lead as the final seconds ticked away.

Wake Forest held a 22-8 advantage in bench scoring, and owned a 24-6 edge in scoring from beyond the 3-point arc. Richmond won the battle in scoring in the paint, 40-28.
