Providence, RI (SportsNetwork.com) - LaDontae Henton scored 29 points in leading the Providence Friars to a 72-66 victory over the Yale Bulldogs in a non-conference matchup at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Tyler Harris contributed 14 points and seven rebounds for Providence (6-0).

Javier Duren netted 21 points and Makai Mason chipped in 12 off the bench for Yale (5-2).

Providence led, 34-27, at the break after shooting an even 50 percent from the floor in the first half, while limiting Yale to 37.5 percent shooting.

The Bulldogs improved to 44.1 percent shooting in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the Friars, who made 52.2 percent of their own shots in the frame.

Providence owned a 25-10 scoring edge at the charity stripe. Yale was the more productive team from beyond the arc (24-9), although it took 18 more shots from that distance.
