Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jamel Artis and Cameron Wright posted 20 points apiece to lift the Pittsburgh Panthers to a 70-65 decision over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in an ACC battle at the Petersen Events Center.

Michael Young contributed 16 points and six rebounds for the Panthers (13-5, 3-2 ACC), who now have a winning conference record for the first time this season.

Robert Sampson paced Georgia Tech (9-8, 0-5) with 16 points. Marcus Georges- Hunt provided 13 points, while Quinton Stephens and Charles Mitchell netted 10 points each. Mitchell also grabbed a game-high nine boards, but it was not enough to help the Yellow Jackets avoid their fifth consecutive setback.

The contest went into the intermission tied, 31-31, after both sides struggled offensively in the opening period. Pitt went 0-of-6 from 3-point range, while the Yellow Jackets were limited to 37.5 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.

Georgia Tech heated up after the break to sink 41.4 percent of its field goal tries. The Panthers converted 7-of-8 free-throw attempts in the final minute to keep the visitors at bay.

Despite the loss, the Yellow Jackets finished with a 39-29 advantage in total rebounds and outscored Pitt, 34-6, in bench points.
