Recap: Oregon vs. UCLA
Eugene, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Joseph Young led five Ducks in double-figures with 16 points as Oregon dispatched the UCLA Bruins, 82-64, in Pac-12 Conference action at Matthew Knight Arena.
Dwayne Benjamin came off the bench to net 15 points in 19 minutes for the Ducks (14-6, 4-3 Pac-12), who have now won two in a row. Elgin Cook added 11 points, while Ahmaad Rorie and Jalil Abdul-Bassit scored 10 points apiece.
Norman Powell led UCLA (11-9, 3-4) with 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor. Bryce Alford and Kevon Looney contributed 15 points apiece, with the latter also accounting for a game-high eight boards.
Oregon knocked down 75 percent of its field goal tries, including a 6-of-7 clip from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Bruins went into the intermission trailing, 46-31, after they were limited to 42.9 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.
UCLA failed to mount a comeback after the break as it was held to 39.4 percent shooting from the field. The Ducks hit on 51.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the second period to extend their lad.
Oregon outscored the Bruins, 27-15, from 3-point range and finished with a 31-28 edge in total rebounds. The loss was the second-straight for UCLA.
