St. Thomas, VI (SportsNetwork.com) - Trey Freeman scored 25 points to lead the Old Dominion Monarchs to a 70-61 victory over the LSU Tigers in non-conference action as part of the 2014 Paradise Jam at the Sports and Fitness Center.

Richard Ross chipped in with 10 points for Old Dominion (3-0), while Jonathan Arledge pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds. The Monarchs will play the winner of Weber State and Illinois State Saturday.

Jarell Martin netted 17 points with 11 rebounds to pace LSU (2-1). Keith Hornsby contributed 15 points and five rebounds in the loss.

Old Dominion shot just 37.5 percent from the field in the first half, but made 4-of-8 from 3-point distance. LSU connected on 44.4 percent of its shots in the frame, but trailed at the half, 33-30.

The Monarchs picked it up in the second period, netting 48.3 percent of their shot attempts. They held the Tigers to 33.3 percent shooting in the half en route to victory.

ODU held a commanding 21-9 advantage in points off turnovers, while the Monarchs' bench outscored LSU's reserves, 25-14.
