Recap: Ohio vs. St Bonaventure
Athens, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Jaylen Adams knocked down a game-high 26 points as the St. Bonaventure Bonnies bested the Ohio University Bobcats, 80-70, in a non-conference matchup at the Convocation Center.
Adams shot 6-of-7 from the field and 12-of-15 from the free-throw line for the Bonnies (6-1), who have won five straight. Marcus Posey (20 points), Andell Cumberbatch (11) and Dion Wright (10) also scored in double figures. Youssou Ndoye (eight points) led with 12 rebounds.
Antonio Campbell recorded a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Bobcats (2-3), who have lost back-to-back contests. Javarez Willis and Maurice Ndour each tallied 16 points, while Ryan Taylor added 11 points.
The Bonnies shot 46.7 percent from the floor in the opening half, with their opponent just below that mark at 43.3 percent. The Bobcats did convert 8-of-11 at the foul line, however, and they led by a slim 37-36 margin at the end of the half.
The visitors shot at almost the same clip in the second half, this time 46.2 percent from the floor. The home team, however, dropped to 38.7 percent, including only 2-of-8 from beyond the arc. The Bonnies led by as many as 15 points with four and a half minutes to play.
The Bonnies' 22-of-28 from the foul line in the contest gave them a little extra edge in the victory.
