Recap: Ole Miss vs. Western Ky
Oxford, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - TJ Price registered a double-double with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds as he led the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to an 81-74 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels in non-conference play at Tad Smith Coliseum.
Also scoring in double figures for the Hilltoppers (4-4) were George Fant with 17 points, to go along with nine boards, as well as Chris Harrison-Docks and Trency Jackson with 12 and 10 points, respectively, as the team won for the third time in four tries.
The Rebels (6-3), losers of two of the last three, were paced by Stefan Moody with 25 points, hitting 6-of-11 shots behind the 3-point line and adding both six rebounds and five assists, while reserve Ladarius White tacked on 15 points in the defeat.
Ole Miss shot an impressive 52.9 percent from the field in the first half, while limiting the visitors to just nine total field goals in the period, allowing the Rebels to move out to a 17-point lead late in the half and a 45-32 edge at the break.
However, the second half was a completely different story as the Rebels lost their aim and made only eight baskets, surrendering the lead and allowing WKU to capture the seven-point victory.
A key stat in the game saw the Hilltoppers outscore the hosts by a 26-14 margin at the free-throw line.
