Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Carlos Morris scored a game-high 24 points, leading five players in double figures, as the Minnesota Golden Gophers crushed the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, 108-82, in a non-conference affair at Williams Arena.

Nate Mason responded with 18 points, Maurice Walker 17 and six rebounds for the Golden Gophers (11-2) as they stretched their win streak to eight in a row. Also contributing on offense were Deandre Mathieu and Charles Buggs with 13 points apiece as the team reached triple digits for the second time this season.

The Seahawks (5-5) were led by Freddie Jackson with 21 points, to go along with six rebounds and five assists, followed by Craig Ponder and Addison Spruill with 12 points apiece and Malik Pugh 10 in the second straight setback for the program.

UNC Wilmington hung around for a good portion of the first half, leading by as many as nine points with just over eight minutes remaining in the period, but eventually the Gophers stepped up and closed the period with a flurry, taking a 54-38 advantage into the break.

In the second half Minnesota's offense was again on the ball, matching the scoring output from the first 20 minutes, allowing the hosts to cruise to the 26-point victory.

The Golden Gophers shot an impressive 59.7 percent from the field on the day, including 10-of-16 (.625) behind the 3-point line, all while forcing the visitors into 20 turnovers.
