Recap: Memphis vs. Bradley
Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 15 points and 12 rebounds from Shaq Goodwin, the Memphis Tigers downed the Bradley Braves, 73-45, in a non- conference clash on at FedExForum.
For the Tigers (3-3), Avery Woodson and Nick King each added 11 points in the triumph as well.
Omari Grier paced the Braves (3-5) with 14 points, the lone visitor in double figures.
The Tigers ended the first half on an 11-3 run and went into halftime holding a 34-20 advantage. They shot 43.3 percent from the field, but missed all five chances from 3-point range. The Braves struggled with their shooting in the opening stanza, making just 26.1 percent of their field goal tries, including 1-of-9 from 3-point distance.
After intermission Memphis hit on 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, while shooting 42.1 percent from the field overall. Bradley again had trouble finding the bottom of the net, shooting only 28 percent from the field in the second half, though the Braves did make 5-of-12 from 3-point distance from the half.
Leading by eight midway through the period, the Tigers went on a 18-6 take control of the contest, as they cruised to victory.
The Braves committed 20 turnovers which the Tigers converted into 29 points. Memphis also finished with a 30-8 scoring advantage in the paint.
