Fort Wayne, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve Forbes registered a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds to help the IUPU-Fort Wayne Mastodons to an 86-78 victory over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in non-conference action at the Gates Sports Center.

Mo Evans added 15 points and six assists for IPFW (5-2). Joe Edwards tallied 13 points and six assists, while Max Landis provided 13 points in 25 minutes off the bench.

Willie Moore and Eric Washington netted 24 points apiece for the RedHawks (2-6). Geovonie McKnight chipped in 10 points as Miami suffered its fifth loss in a row.

The Mastodons took a 30-27 lead into the intermission after they shot an even 50 percent from the floor and assisted six of their 11 made field goal attempts in the opening stanza. Miami missed all six of its tries from 3-point range in the first period.

Both sides put on impressive offensive displays after the break. The RedHawks heated up to sink 61.5 percent of their field goal tries, including a 5-of-10 clip from beyond the arc. IPFW managed to sink 60 percent of its shots from the floor and convert, 22-of-29 tries at the charity stripe over the final 20 minutes of regulation.

Despite the loss, Miami's reserves outscored IPFW's bench, 38-20. The Mastodons enjoyed a 30-21 edge in the rebounding battle.
