Recap: Iowa vs. Pepperdine

Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron White tallied 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists to lead the Iowa Hawkeyes over the Pepperdine Waves, 72-61, in a non-conference matchup at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Mike Gesell and Jarrod Uthoff netted 15 points apiece for Iowa (3-2), which bounced back from a two-game losing streak.

For Pepperdine (3-1), Shawn Olden poured in 17 points, Stacy Davis notched 13 points and nine rebounds and Jett Raines came off the bench to tally eight points and 10 boards.

Iowa shot a modest 43.8 percent from the field in the first half but held Pepperdine to only 37 percent shooting, as the home team carried a 35-30 lead into intermission.

The Waves got to within three points of the lead early in the second half, but the Hawkeyes pulled away with an 11-0 run.

Iowa, which never trailed, scored 22 points off of 19 Pepperdine turnovers.
