Rochester, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - R.J. Hunter poured in a game-high 27 points on 10-of-23 shooting, as Georgia State claimed an 85-70 win over Western Carolina in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic.

Ryan Harrow added 21 points and Markus Crider had 15 with nine rebounds for the Panthers (3-2), winners of two straight.

Rhett Harrelson totaled 21 points for the Catamounts (2-3), whose two-game win streak ended. Torrion Brummitt finished with 15 points James Sinclair picked up 14 in defeat.

Ryann Green's triple staked Georgia State to a 23-16 edge with 9:11 left in the opening half, but Western Carolina regained momentum with an 11-2 burst.

Hunter's trey then gave GSU a 35-29 advantage and the Panthers hit the break up 39-35.

WCU led only by one point on two occasions early in the second half, and battled back to tie three more times before Georgia State finally gained control.

Harrelson connected from long distance with 6:19 to play which pulled the Catamounts into a 64-64 tie before the Panthers reeled off eight in a row over the next two minutes. Hunter asserted himself near the end of the run with layups sandwiched around a Harrow basket.

Harrelson then hit two from the line and Georgia State responded with 10 more in succession, leading 82-66 with 1:43 to play on two free throws by Crider.
