Dayton Flyers VS. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Recap: Dayton vs. Georgia Tech

Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Sibert scored a gamer-high 24 points as the Dayton Flyers defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 75-61, in non- conference play at UD Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Flyers (9-2), as they registered their second win in a row and the seventh in eight opportunities, was Dyshawn Pierre with 19 points, as he converted all four of his 3-point attempts.

The Yellow Jackets (8-3), who had a two-game win streak come to an end, were led by Charles Mitchell who registered a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Marcus Georges-Hunt and Tadric Jackson responded with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Both teams shot the ball well from the field in the first half, Dayton converting 50 percent and the visitors 48.5 percent of their attempts, but the Flyers were huge behind the 3-point line (7-of-10), compared to just 1-of-10 for the Yellow Jackets. However, even with that huge difference on the outside, Dayton led by just six at the break, 39-33.

In the second half both squads dropped off considerably from the floor, yet with the Flyers being held to only seven field goals, they turned to the free- throw line where they connected on 19 chances, en route to the double-digit win.

The hosts lost the rebounding battle, 39-27, but made up for it by forcing 14 turnovers and outscoring Tech by a 23-7 margin at the charity stripe.
