Recap: Dartmouth vs. IUPU-Ft Wayne

Hanover, NH (SportsNetwork.com) - Connor Boehm nailed a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the Dartmouth Big Green to a 68-67 victory over the IUPU-Fort Wayne Mastodons in non-conference action at Leede Arena.

Alex Mitola scored a game-high 21 points for Dartmouth (1-2), while one of his four assists set up Boehm for the game-winner. Gabas Maldunas tallied 18 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Boehm had 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Steve Forbes finished with 19 points for IPFW (3-2). Joe Edwards and Joe Reed each had 12 points, with Reed adding 10 rebounds as well. Isaiah McCray chipped in 10 points.

Forbes scored 14 points in the first half, as the Mastodons shot 45.8 percent from the floor to take a 31-28 lead at the break. Dartmouth shot a lowly 37.9 percent from the field in the opening period.

The Big Green rallied in the second half, when they made an even 50 percent of their shots from the field. In fact, they had a six-point lead with just under seven minutes to play. However, IPFW chipped away at the deficit and pulled ahead, 67-65, after McCray finished a fast break with a dunk and Reed split a pair of free throws with nine seconds remaining. However, Boehm's heroics allowed the hosts to come out on top.

Dartmouth had a 21-8 advantage in points off of turnovers.
