GAME NOTES: Dartmouth opens its home slate against the IPFW Mastodons on Friday, as the Big Green are searching for their first win of the young season.

Fall term finals have kept the Big Green idle for more than a week following a 53-48 loss to Hartford on Nov. 19. The offensive struggle came on the heels of Dartmouth putting up just 57 points in a season-opening loss at St. Bonaventure.

While The Big Green held Hartford to 32.7 percent shooting, they turned it over 19 times for the second straight game and only shot 4-of-17 from behind the arc. Alex Mitola connected on three of those 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 16 points, while Gabas Maldunas added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Dartmouth has committed 21 more turnovers than its opponents over the first two games, while IPFW has coughed it up just 11 times per game.

The Mastodons bounced back from a hard-fought loss at Georgia Tech with an 89-71 victory over Jacksonville on Monday. IPFW shot a sizzling 63.7 percent (20-of-30) from the field in building a 20-point halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way. Isaiah McCray and Joe Edwards both scored 16 points, while Mo Evans dished out seven assists to go with 11 points.

McCray also pulled down 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and leads the squad in scoring (14.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg). Edwards, Evans and Steve Forbes all average over 12 ppg for an offense that shoots 47.5 percent from the floor.

IPFW has beaten Dartmouth three years running, and by the looks of the Big Green's inept offense, a fourth straight victory is easily in store.
