San Juan, PR (SportsNetwork.com) - Peyton Allen scored 14 points and Jalen Jones contributed 12 with 11 rebounds, leading Texas A&M to a 59-50 win over College of Charleston in the consolation bracket of the Puerto Rico Tip-off.

Jordan Green added 11 points for the Aggies (2-1), who lost to Dayton on a last-second tip-in in the opening round Thursday. Alex Caruso chipped in nine points and seven assists in Friday's victory.

Joe Chealey and Anthony Stitt each scored 10 points for the College of Charleston (1-3), which fell to Connecticut on Thursday and has lost three in a row.

The Cougars led by as many as eight late in the first half and carried a 26-20 advantage to the break. Charleston maintained a lead for most of the second half and held a 37-32 edge with just under nine minutes remaining, then went cold for the next five minutes.

Charleston managed only a pair of free throws during a 14-2 Texas A&M run. Allen started the spurt with a bucket and put the Aggies ahead to stay with a 3-pointer for a 42-39 lead with 5:21 left.

Two free throws from Green extended the margin to 46-39 before a dunk by Glen Pierre Jr. ended Charleston's field goal drought with 3 1/2 minutes to play. A three by Canyon Barry pulled the Cougars within two a minute later, and it was a still a two-point game before Charleston again began misfiring, allowing the Aggies to pull away with layups and free throws in the final minute.
