Recap: UCF vs. Temple
Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jesse Morgan netted 15 points with six rebounds as the Temple Owls routed the UCF Knights, 86-62, in an American Athletic Conference Clash at CFE Arena.
Will Cummings and Devin Coleman each had 14 points for the Owls (14-7, 5-3 AAC), who have won back-to-back games. Quenton DeCosey added 13 points.
Brandon Goodwin notched 17 points to lead the Knights (9-11, 2-7), who have lost four straight. Daiquan Walker followed with 14 points, but also had six turnovers.
The Owls were dominant early on, as they shot 41.9 percent from the field in the first half, and held the opposition to just 29.2 percent shooting, including 1-of-10 from the perimeter. At halftime, the visitors led 37-18.
The home team improved to 53.9 percent from the floor in the second half, but the Owls stayed hot, improving to 58.8 percent. The lead was as large as 36 points for Temple midway through the half.
Temple outscored the opposition 44-22 inside the paint, and 21-13 in points off turnovers.
