Provo, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Haws scored 26 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists as the BYU Cougars coasted past the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, 90-76, in a non-conference clash at the Marriott Center.

Chase Fischer chipped in with 20 points of his own for BYU (5-2), while Anson Winder contributed 19 points and five rebounds off the bench in the win. Kyle Collinsworth also added 11 points for BYU.

Ja'Mill Powell led Eastern Kentucky (4-1) with 23 points in the contest on 7- of-13 shooting. Corey Walden netted 15 points with seven assists, and both Timmy Knipp and Eric Stutz added 10 points apiece in the loss.

BYU shot an even 50 percent from the field in the first half, and took a slight 32-30 lead into halftime after Eastern Kentucky managed a 52.4 shooting percentage in the same frame.

The Cougars opened things up in the second half behind 64.5 percent shooting, which included a 10-of-15 clip from 3-point range. The Colonels dropped to 46.4 percent shooting in the period, but did manage to hit 15-of-19 from the free-throw line in the half.

BYU held a decisive 33-15 advantage in bench scoring, and had a 32-21 edge in rebounding in the contest.
