Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Smith and Evan Bradds each scored 15 points to lead the Belmont Bruins to a 63-59 win over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in a non-conference brawl at Curb Event Center.

Craig Bradshaw added 14 points for Belmont (7-1).

Jaqawn Raymond finished with 12 points for Middle Tennessee (4-3). Reggie Upshaw and DJ Jones chipped in 11 points apiece.

Belmont took a commanding 36-26 lead into the break. The Bruins sank 48 percent of their shots from the floor, including a 6-of-11 effort from 3-point range, in the first 20 minutes. Middle Tennessee had only nine field goals in the period.

In the second half, the Blue Raiders drilled seven 3-pointers and held the Bruins to 28 percent shooting, but it was not enough to make up the difference, although they did cut the deficit to a single point three times in the frame.

Belmont outscored Middle Tennessee, 31-5, off of turnovers.
