NFL Preseason Preview - Pittsburgh (0-3) at Carolina (2-1) (ET)
(Sports Network) - The Carolina Panthers will close the preseason Thursday night by hosting the winless Pittsburgh Steelers at Bank of America Stadium.
It will be the second straight AFC North match-up for Carolina, which upended reigning Super Bowl champion Baltimore 34-27 last week in the Charm City.
Ted Ginn Jr. ran back a punt 74 yards for a score and the Panthers added three defensive touchdowns in that one. Drayton Florence and D.J. Moore each ran back interceptions for scores, while Thomas Davis pounced on a fumble for a touchdown.
Cam Newton finished 10-of-19 for 99 yards through the air for the Panthers.
"I don't know if I've ever seen a game go quite like that," said Panthers head coach Ron Rivera. "We got in a lot of good work defensively, but the result was a limited the number of opportunities on offense."
The Steelers, meanwhile, dropped their third straight contest in the 2013 preseason last week when Chase Daniel hooked up with Rico Richardson for a 15- yard touchdown on the first possession of overtime to lift the Kansas City Chiefs to a 26-20 victory over Pittsburgh at Heinz Field.
Ben Roethlisberger passed for 166 yards and a touchdown on 13-of-19 passes while playing the entire first half under center for the Steelers. Backup Brad Gradkowski went 8-of-17 for 115 yards and a score.
The Panthers and Steelers are matching up for the 11th consecutive year in the preseason finale. Pittsburgh leads the all-time preseason series 10-4.
