Yankees place Billings on DL

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Yankees have placed pitcher Bruce Billings on the 15-day disabled list because of a right forearm strain.

Billings made his Yankees debut on Friday and was tagged for four runs on four hits, including two homers, over four innings in New York’s 13-1 loss to the Angels.

The Yankees filled the roster spot by recalling pitcher Preston Claiborne from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Claiborne appeared in two games for the Yankees earlier this month and is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA.
