Will Take Charge has workout for Travers
Saratoga Springs, NY (Sports Network) – Jim Dandy runner-up Will Take Charge put in a workout Tuesday morning for the Travers Stakes set for Saturday, Aug. 24.
Trained by D. Wayne Lukas, Will Take Charge worked five furlongs over Saratoga’s Oklahoma training track in 1:03.90.
The colt won the Smarty Jones at Oaklawn Park in January followed by a sixth in the Southwest and a win in the Rebel at the Arkansas track. He then trained up to the Run for the Roses where he finished eighth. He followed with a seventh in the Preakness and was 10th in the Belmont Stakes.
Will Take Charge has banked $585,371 with three wins in 11 starts.
