Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet, word has been leaked about the biggest headliners that are set to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago this year. Not only do the headliners include huge names, but many have new projects coming out, too.

The Chicago Tribute reported that the headliners for Lollapalooza this year will be Mumford & Sons, the Killers, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix. They also stated that, according to “multiple industry sources,” the National and the Postal Service will also be appearing. For the Postal Service it would be a nice way to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their only release, “Give Up”; while the National is expected to release their sixth album in May.

Vampire Weekend is going to be releasing their third studio album, “Modern Vampires of the City,” on May 7; and if the rumors are true, this will be their second appearance at the festival after also performing at the 2009 festival.

If Phoenix does appear, it will be the first time some of their new mainstream fans will have the chance to see them live, after their breakout album “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix” was released in 2009.

Both The Killers and Mumford & Sons are currently out supporting albums that they’ve put out last year. Mumford & Sons will undoubtedly still be promoting “Babel” at this year’s festival, after it took the top Grammy award “Album of the Year,” last month.

Lollapalooza promoters will most likely confirm a lineup in the beginning weeks of the April, with the festival already set for August 2-4 at Chicago’s Grant Park.
