Western Athletic Conference Tournament Recaps
Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) – Tshilidzi Nephawe tallied a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the top-seeded New Mexico State Aggies to a 57-53 victory over the fourth-seeded CS-Bakersfield Roadrunners in the semifinal round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena.
Pascal Siakam also chipped in a double-double for New Mexico State (22-10) with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Daniel Mullings added another 14 points. The Aggies advance to the tournament championship game Saturday to face third- seeded Seattle.
Aly Ahmed netted 22 points to lead Bakersfield (14-19), while Kevin Mays contributed 10 points in the loss, which was the team’s third in its last four games.
New Mexico State was able to edge out Bakersfield on the boards, 35-28, and own a 38-30 advantage in scoring in the paint in the win.

Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) – Isiah Umipig netted 30 points to pace the third-seeded Seattle Redhawks past the second-seeded Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos, 69-63, in the semifinal round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena.
William Powell chipped in with 13 points to help Seattle (16-14), which advances to the conference title bout Saturday to take on top-seeded New Mexico State. Jarell Flora added 12 points, and Jack Crook grabbed 11 rebounds.
Deshon Taylor scored 16 points to pace UMKC (14-19), while Reese Holliday contributed 15 points with five rebounds. Martez Harrison collected 12 points in the defeat.
Seattle is tasked with trying to unseat the three-time defending WAC champion Aggies. The Redhawks outrebounded the Kangaroos in Friday’s contest, 38-27.
