Verlander exits with quad injury
Detroit, MI (Sports Network) – Justin Verlander left Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers with a tight right quad muscle, shortly after having his no- hit bit broken up in the seventh inning.
It was the second time this season that Verlander has taken a no-hitter into the seventh inning of a game.
The 2013 All-Star opted not to participate in the Mid-Summer Classic because of his start on Sunday and was replaced by Baltimore pitcher Chris Tillman.
