Varlamov returns to court in assault case
Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) – Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov was in court Monday for an advisement hearing related to a domestic violence charge involving his girlfriend.
In a brief hearing, Varlamov answered questions from a judge and left without comment with his lawyers.
The 25-year-old Varlamov was charged last month with one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, for allegedly attacking his girlfriend at their Denver home on Oct. 30.
Varlamov is free on $5,000 bond and has been traveling and playing with the team.
Varlamov’s next court hearing is Jan. 22, 2014, where he will have the opportunity to enter a plea.
The Russian has compiled a 13-6-0 record with a 2.12 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage this season, his third with the Avalanche.
