Untimed workout for California Chrome
Del Mar, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome had an untimed workout on Friday at Los Alamitos Race Course.
“It wasn’t a registered work. I just wanted to open up his lungs and stretch his legs a little bit,” trainer Art Sherman said. “He looks great. We’re back in action.”
Owned by Steve Coburn and Perry Martin, California Chrome has not started since finishing in a dead heat for fourth in the Belmont Stakes on June 7. His connections are looking for one race before the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic on Nov. 1.
