Twins place Arcia on DL
Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) – A wrist injury has landed Minnesota Twins outfielder Oswaldo Arcia on the 15-day disabled list.
The team announced the move, which is retroactive to Apr. 5, following Wednesday’s 7-4 extra-inning loss to the Oakland Athletics.
Arcia has not played since Friday due to the injury and is off to a 2-for-18 start to the young season.
Outfielder Darin Mastroianni will have his contract selected from Triple-A Rochester on Thursday to fill the available roster spot.
Mastroianni appeared in 30 games with the Twins last season, but hit just .185 with five RBI. The 28-year-old owns a .230 average with three home runs and 23 stolen bases over 108 career major league games.
