Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) – Jameis Winston may have the Florida State fans quickly putting the EJ Manuel-era in the past. Manuel led the Seminoles to an ACC title and an Orange Bowl win last season, but Winston showed Monday there could be bigger things on the horizon by throwing for 356 yards and four touchdowns while leading No. 11 Florida State to a 41-13 drubbing of Pittsburgh at Heinz Field. The redshirt freshman added a rushing touchdown, completed all but two of his 27 attempts and connected with Nick O’Leary for three scores as Florida State (1-0, 1-0 ACC) outgained the Panthers by a 533-297 margin. It was the season and conference opener for both schools as Pittsburgh (0-1, 0-1) bolted the defunct Big East for the ACC this year. Tom Savage finished with just 201 yards with a touchdown on 15- of-28 passes and was intercepted twice.
