Storrs, CT (SportsNetwork.com) – Omar Calhoun scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half Thursday and No. 19 Connecticut coasted to a 101-55 victory over Detroit in its first on-campus game of the season. Niels Giffey scored 15 points, all in the first half, Ryan Boatright had 12 and the Huskies (3-0) went over 100 points for the first time in more than four years. DeAndre Daniels added 11 points and Shabazz Napier and Tyler Olander both scored 10. Matthew Grant scored 15 points to lead the Titans (1-2) and Juwan Howard Jr. had 14. The Huskies have won every opener at Gampel Pavilion since the building opened in 1990. They played their first two games against Maryland at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and against Yale at XL Center in Hartford, Conn.

Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) – Joe Jackson had 16 points, Michael Dixon Jr. scored 15 and No. 13 Memphis won its season-opener 95-69 over Austin Peay on Thursday. Nick King added 13 points for the Tigers (1-0), who were the last top-25 team to play their first game this season. Chris Crawford and Geron Johnson both posted 11 points in the win and Shaq Goodwin had 10 to round out six Memphis scorers in double digits. Ed Dyson had 11 points to lead the Governors (1-1) and Zavion Williams and Chris Freeman both scored 10.

Wichita, KS (SportsNetwork.com) – Fred VanVleet netted 18 points on an efficient 4-for-7 shooting and No. 16 Wichita State overcame a sluggish first half to beat William & Mary, 79-62, from Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers (3-0) trailed 39-38 at the break, but Ron Baker’s triple at the 16:53 mark of the second half put the reigning Final Four participants ahead for good. VanVleet added eight assists for Wichita State (3-0), which has won all three games this season by at least 17 points. Cleanthony Early tallied 14 points and nine rebounds and Baker netted 13 points. The Tribe (1-2) were led by Marcus Thornton, who dropped 18 points in the setback. Tim Rusthoven and Omar Prewitt contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively.
