Ti-Cats new stadium to be called Tim Hortons Field
Hamilton, ON (Sports Network) – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats unveiled the name of their new stadium on Friday – Tim Hortons Field.
The new facility, named after the Canadian restaurant chain which was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, will serve as the home of the Tiger-Cats beginning next year. It will also host international soccer events, major outdoor concerts and future Grey Cups.
Under the naming rights agreement, Tim Hortons becomes the presenting sponsor of Tiger-Cats football, from which the brand is expected to be visible on player jerseys and other premium partnership assets.
It’s a 10-year agreement for the stadium, which is being built on the site of the old Ivor Wynne Stadium.
This year, the Tiger-Cats will play their home games at Alumni Stadium in Guelph, Ontario.
