Thought Psy was a One-Hit Wonder? Here’s the Follow Up to Gangnam Style!

Korean pop sensation, Psy, broke through Western mainstream borders with his hit Gangam Style. And while those who loathed the earworm that they couldn’t shake, were hoping that the creator of such a song was just a one-hit wonder, apparently he’s not. Psy is back with another song. This one is called Gentleman, and it’s just as catchy (or annoying, depending on how you look at it) as his first.

It’s hard to know what Psy is saying in Gentleman, unless you happen to be fluent in Korean, but the skits acted out in the video certainly contrast with that title. The video shows Psy playing mean pranks on men, women, and children, doing things such as kicking balls away from them, pulling chairs out from under them, and otherwise causing mayhem. Sometimes he takes a break to dance, usually in a very sexy manner with scantily-clad women. And yes, there’s a signature move thrown into the chorus that’s sure to catch on just as quickly as Gangnam did.

Psy had said that he felt immense pressure with his second release, because of the huge success that Gangnam did — getting over 1.5 billion views on YouTube. So far it seems, there’s no reason Gentlemen won’t see the same kind of success. In its first two days on YouTube, it’s already received over 60 million views. Check it out for yourself here, and tell us what you think!
