The Knicks are on a Pre-Playoff Roll!

The Knicks are on a winning streak and during it, they’ve taken on some pretty tough teams. One of them was the Oklahoma City Thunder, who hosted the Knicks on Sunday night. But home field advantage did nothing for the Thunder, as the Knicks silenced their building, extended their streak to twelve, and set themselves up very nicely for the playoffs.

In Sunday’s 125-120 shootout win on Sunday, Carmelo Anthony was his usual best, finishing with 36 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks. On the other side of the ball, Kevin Durant had a good game as well, but with 27 points and only three rebounds, was nowhere near catching Anthony. J.R. Smith was also integral in the win, putting away two shots with just over one minute left in the game. But Anthony admits that it wasn’t an easy game, and the close score reflects as such.

“One of the biggest wins we’ve had in a long time,” Anthony said after the game. “To come out here, keep our composure, it’s a tough place to win.”

But the Knicks know about tough wins. Earlier in this winning streak they also beat the Miami Heat, who currently sit at the top of their division. The win on Sunday night doesn’t just give the Knicks their twelfth straight win, it also gives them their first 50-win season since 1999-2000.

The Knicks play again on Monday against Washington where they can further their winning streak even further. More importantly however, it will also give them the win for their division as they go into the playoffs.
