Southland Conference unveils preseason team

Frisco, TX (Sports Network) – Defending Southland Conference football co- champions Central Arkansas and Sam Houston State as well as McNeese State lead the way with 12 players each named to the preseason all-conference team on Wednesday.

Among the selections are some of last season’s individual award winners: Sam Houston State senior running back Timothy Flanders, the league’s two-time player of the year; Central Arkansas senior quarterback Wynrick Smothers, the reigning offensive player of the year; and his sophomore teammate, Jonathan Woodard, last season’s top freshman at defensive end.
