Six 3-year-olds set for Private Terms Stakes
Laurel, MD (SportsNetwork.com) – Six 3-year-olds, with the Preakness Stakes in the possible future, have been entered for Saturday’s $100,000 Private Terms Stakes at Laurel Park.
Leaving from the inside post in the 1 1/8-mile stakes will be Bodhisattva with Trevor McCarthy in the saddle. Bodhisattva is owned and trained by Jose Corrales.
Sent off at 11-1, Bodhisattva set most of the pace in last month’s Miracle Wood Stakes at Laurel. The chestnut colt finished fourth, just a half-length behind Savvy Street. The 3-year-old has two wins and four thirds in nine starts for $85,095.
Combat Diver, second in the Miracle Wood, will start from post 5 with Sheldon Russell again in the saddle. The chestnut colt is owned by Wounded Warrior Stables and trained by Gary Contessa.
Combat Diver rallied from last in the Miracle Wood to drop a nose decision to Savvy Street. The colt has banked $66,300 with a win and a second from six starts.
Here is the field for the Private Terms Stakes in post position order: Bodhisattva, Trevor McCarthy; Net Gain, Julian Pimentel; Now We Are Free, no jockey; Slick William, Jevian Toledo; Combat Diver, Sheldon Russell and Bridget’s Big Luvy, Angel Cruz.
