Shared Belief puts in work for Awesome Again

Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Champion gelding Shared Belief had his final workout Tuesday at Golden Gate Fields for Saturday’s $300,000 Awesome Again Stakes at Santa Anita.

Co-owned and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, the 3-year-old, with jockey Ricardo Gonzalez, worked a half-mile in 47 3/5 seconds on Golden Gate’s synthetic main track. The Eclipse Award-winning gelding galloped out five furlongs in 1:01 flat.

“He galloped out strong,” the Hall of Fame trainer said. “It was a very nice work. He’ll ship to Santa Anita tomorrow.

“The track was a little faster today, so he went a little faster. He was really reaching out.”

Shared Belief, whose ownership group includes broadcaster Jim Rome, is perfect in six career starts which include wins last year in the Hollywood Prevue Stakes and CashCall Futurity, both at Hollywood Park and this year in the Los Alamitos Derby and Pacific Classic versus older horses.

Shared Belief has earned $1,372,200.
