Serena, Venus will skip Fed Cup next week

White Plains, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Serena and Venus Williams are not on next week’s Fed Cup roster for the United States in St. Louis.

Team USA will host France in a World Group Playoff, with the winner re-joining the World Group in 2015.

The American players will be 18th-ranked Sloane Stephens, No. 42 Madison Keys, 49th-ranked Varvara Lepchenko and No. 57 Christina McHale.

The U.S., captained by Mary Joe Fernandez, and France will battle on the campus of Saint Louis University from April 19-20.
