Royals starter Ventura leaves game
Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura left his start against the Houston Astros on Monday with lateral elbow discomfort.
The 22-year-old right-hander will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of his injury.
Ventura was taken out of the game after manager Ned Yost and a trainer came to the mound with two outs in the third.
He gave up five runs on seven hits with three walks across 2 2/3 innings and took the loss in his 10th start of the season.
