Royals recall Brooks for Saturday start
Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – The Kansas City Royals have recalled Aaron Brooks from Triple-A Omaha to make his first major league start in Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
It will be the right-hander’s second appearance in the majors after debuting in relief for the Royals on May 3.
Brooks, 24, was 4-1 with a 3.12 ERA in seven starts and one relief outing with the Storm Chasers this season. He displayed excellent command, issuing only eight walks in 40 1/3 innings.
The Royals optioned infielder/outfielder Jimmy Paredes to Omaha in a corresponding move.
