Roughriders WR Bagg headlines August’s best in CFL

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Rob Bagg highlighted a group of four players chosen as the CFL’s best for the month of August.

Bagg was selected as the top Canadian player after making 23 catches for 357 yards and a touchdown. He is currently fifth in the league with 472 passing yards on 32 receptions.

Edmonton slotback Adarius Bowman was named the Offensive Player of the Month. The Tennessee native hauled in 29 passes for 383 yards and a score, including an eight-catch, 123-yard effort in Monday’s loss to Calgary.

Roughriders defensive end John Chick took home the Defensive Player of the Month for the second straight month. Chick recorded six sacks, 12 tackles and one forced fumble, leading Saskatchewan to a 5-0 record in August.

BC Lions returner Tim Brown was the league’s premier special teams player after compiling a combined 522 return yards with a punt return for a touchdown. Brown leads the league with 625 punt return yards.
